We visited Salzburg, Austria. It was every bit as beautiful in person as it is in books and movies. We had one and a half days to visit as much as possible and we enjoyed every second of it. We took a Cog ride up to Hohensalzburg Fortress, walked through the old town, visited the birthplace and childhood home of Mozart and enjoyed a rainy visit to Mirabell Gardens. Along the way I picked up a traditional Bavarian walking hat and kept its custom by selecting a pin and feather to adorn the hat. I couldn't help but to pick out a pin with the Edelweiss flower ... who can't help but think of The Sound of Music and the song Edelweiss when talking of Salzburg.
