We Cruised the Med!

Worn by Jaime on May 5, 2010 - May 15, 2010

We cruised the Mediterranean aboard the Disney Magic! Our 10-day cruise was nothing short of amazing ... even with a few of our "bad luck" moments. We were upgraded to a deluxe-room with a veranda and enjoyed the mornings sipping coffee while we pulled into port and our evenings drinking wine while pulling out of port. Of course it wouldn't be a trip with "My Sister's Shoes" if there weren't a few bloopers along the way ... that's when I know Rachel is really with me!

After nearly missing our flight out of Frankfurt Hahn airport, we arrived in Spain with our friends, the Wagner's, and boarded the Disney Magic for our Mediterranean Cruise ...

Valletta, Malta

It was so HOT and my feet were so swollen that I felt like one of Cinderella's stepsisters trying to squeeze her feet to glass slippers that were 2 sizes too small ... there was no way! So I did the next best thing and stopped to take a photo along our journey. We spent the day meandering the streets, shopping, and had a really nice glass of wine with lunch!

Naples, Italy

We walked through the ruins of Pompeii

We hiked Mt. Vesuvius

La Spezia, Italy

We took a train to Cinque Terre, part of grouping of coastal villages you can hike through along a scenic rocky cliff. Borrowing a little "un-luck" we ended up trapped on the cliff-side in a torrential downpour! We were soaked to the bone and had no way to escape the rain! We ran our way back to Cinque Terre (with 3 toddlers in tow) and found a little restaurant to enjoy lunch and cappuccino.

Villefranche, France

Waiting for out train from the town of Villefranche to Nice ... My Sister's Shoes with the Disney Magic in the background.

On the beach in Nice

The rocky beaches of Nice

Taking a break and walking the streets back in Villefranche ... it was beautiful

Thinking of my sis

Ajaccio, Corsica

Relaxing on the beach in Corsica ... our final port call

Rachel, it seems a bit of "unlucky charm" tagged along made with us to Cinque Terre; but it wouldn't be a journey with you unless there was a little unexpected fun thrown in the mix! I know how much you love the ocean Rachel and I couldn't help but to remember your days sailing and exploring British Virgin Islands. Wouldn't in be fun to take a sister's cruise with Jess, you, and me someday!!
